The Good Cook - Cheese Biscuits

Today I made Parmesan Biscuits after being inspired by "The Good Cook" with Simon Hopkinson on BBC1 yesterday. Despite some of the decidedly over dramatic and cringeworthy filming which included slow motion action shots of flour tumbling into the mixer and multi-angle footage of eggs cracking into a bowl , I enjoyed the recipes and would also like to try the "Roquefort salad with pears, chicory and walnut oil" and the "Rice Pudding".

TIP : If you decide to try out this recipe, be careful, the first instruction is to pre-heat the oven which is not a good idea since you will be wasting a lot of gas/electricity while the dough rests in the fridge for 30 minutes.

I had the intention of following the recipe exactly but to start with I didn't have any mustard powder so I had to use ready made mustard in a jar as a substitute. I also thought I'd try "tamed jalapenos" as well as some fresh red chillies. Finally,  I also  forgot to brush the biscuits with egg.

THE RESULT: Well, I was pretty happy with the result, despite my modifications/mistake. They actually looked just like they did on the TV and the tamed jalapeno cheese biscuits were surely the best - the vinegar adding a nice tang and a bit of extra moisture.
I will definitely be making these again! This is a quick (apart from the bit where you need to leave the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes), easy and tasty recipe.

And Simon Hopkinson is right, they don't last long!!
