Squaring the Circle - motif #27

The top image is a nice little motif from the book "beyond the square crochet", it's kind of wheel like and has attractive picot points going all around the edge
I love circles but sometimes it's difficult to know what to do with them other than making coasters or place mats. If we can square them off they become much more useful. So I suppose it's funny that I'm kind of going against what they book is trying to do...which is to "go beyond the square." I went beyond the square and now I'm going back to it!
I took the motif and added two extra rounds to turn the motif into a square. Now I have a square motif that I can use to make a throw for the sofa. I have chosen these colours to give a Christmassy feel to the blanket. I think the wheel in middle becomes also flower like with the green - almost like a Christmas rose

Instructions for squaring off motif #27

1. Join with a slip stitch to any of the picot points (don't worry too much about the exact location in the picot, I literally just pushed my crochet hook through the tip and allowed it to follow the path of least resistance) chain 3 (counts as 1dc), in the same picot, 2dc, *chain 3, sc in next picot, chain 3,  3dc,chain 2, 3 dc in same picot* repeat from *to*  3 times, chain 3, sc in next picot, chain 3 , 3dc in first picot, chain 2 and slip stitch in top of chain 3.
2. Chain 1 (counts as 1 sc crochet) sc into every stitch all around, 4 sc into each corner. Fasten off with slip stitch in 1st chain 1.
