In the dark garden
Of the night,
The peony remains quiet.

These red peonies were growing in my garden when I bought the house more than 13 years ago. Every year they come back with their big, beautiful, pom-pom flowers. It's an easy plant to propagate by dividing. A lot of the people in my street also have this particular peony and I wonder if it originated from one person who split and shared the plant to his/her neighbours.
