Corner View - Poem

It's been snowing in my corner of the world - not much snow to be fair. We had about one inch and the roads were thrown into chaos. The kids didn't get a day off school though. Instead they skipped lunch; spent the whole of their break time making snowballs out on the school fields.
I didn't even go out of the house at all except to feed the rabbits and take a couple of photos with my phone.
One of the photos from a corner of my garden inspired a poem - my favourite kind of poem - a haiku :

only just alive
visitor from warmer lands
wrapped in icy coat

And two real snow themed haiku by Issa

to my open palms
snowflakes flitting
down

the young pine needs
new clothes
come, come, snow!

  3. Oh, so beautiful!
I love the spirit of haiku evoked through your poem and photos.
They feel very Japanese too in the sense of a deep connection to nature. Unfortunately something that is getting lost in Japan, so its nice to feel that pure inspiration and discovery in your poem! and a nice tribute to Issa`s:))
