Little Crochet Purses

Some of my students had finished their cabled cowls and needed a quick project to work on during the last class before half term. I thought it would be a good idea to use up some of the yarn they had left over from the cowls so came up with this little purse. It's also a great way to utilise spare buttons or showcase any special buttons you may have been saving.
The white purse is made using 2 strands of DK cotton, the green one is made from King Cole Magnum Chunky and the grey is Stylecraft Alpaca Chunky. I have become quite  afan of the Stylecraft Alpaca Chunky because it's nice to crochwet with and the Alpaca gives the finished projects a lovely "halo".
They are are really quick to work up and pretty cute too! You could use them for holding your knitting and craft sundries such as stitch markers, safety pins and tape measures. It would also work as a coin purse or how about attaching a cord to make a child's purse?
The pattern is here and it's free and has been tested. Hope you have fun making it! Please do share your creations ...if you use Instagram please use the handle #mezzacraft
I now have to put together a project for next term and I only have one week to do it! We're going to tackled double filet crochet also known as interlocking crochet but not sure I'm allowed to call it that as somebody has trade marked that term!
