Handspun Flower Brooch

Remember the little skein of handspun BLF that Ballee sent me a few days ago?

Well, I knew right away what I was going to do with it...I wanted to make a flower brooch or corsage.

I used the book "100 Flowers to Knit and Crochet" as inspiration. The brooch I made is loosely based on pattern #5 Chrysanthemum but I cast on 14 stitches instead of 20 and continued making petals until I ran out of yarn. Then I attached a few pieces of black lace trim I had. I sewed a safety-pin to the back.

I think it brightens up my tatty old coat!
