Corner View : My Favourite Actor(s)

I don't really watch many films and I don't watch much TV either, probably due to the fact that I am a knitting fanatic and with everything else in my life I really have to find the time to sit down and watch a film or go to the cinema.
Having said that, I do have quite strong views about films and generally bemoan modern films for their shallow actors that are mainly picked for their good looks. Modern scripts also seem to cater for the less discerning audience. So you can guess that I mostly like old stuff and European films. And I don't just have one favourite...I have picked two ladies and two men.

Marlene Dietrich - for her beauty, style and endless array of facial expressions.

Christian Bale -  not for his well known role as Batman, but for playing Trevor Reznik in The Machinist

Monica Bellucci - ok, so she is a little bit of an exception to the rule, she's not such a great actress but she is incredibly beautiful and she actually did a pretty good job in Malèna which is a brilliant film and you should watch it if you've not seen it before.

Massimo Troisi - played a brilliant and appealing role in Il Postino: The Postman, sadly he died 12 hours after  he finished his last scene in the film. He was posthumously nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for this role.

There are more I'd like to mention but that's enough for now...

Sorry I haven't been on the Corner View scene much lately! I've missed taking part!
