I bought a slow cooker the other day. I don't really know why I've only just got round to it. I was prompted by a book.... which I bought even though I didn't own a slow cooker at the time :-|
The recipes in the book inspired me to buy the slow cooker.
So, lots of inspiring recipes...what should I make first?! Lamb Passanda!
I spent quite a bit of money getting all the ingredients.
And it smelt wonderful while it was cooking!
But sadly the finished result, whilst perfectly edible, was not the delicious, flavour infused curry I had hoped for. The meat was certainly very tender but it lacked a depth of flavour that you'd expect from something that had been cooked for 5 hours with lots of spices, onions, garlic, ground almonds.... Was it the recipe? Was it my inexperience? I think I'll just have to try out a couple more recipes to decide!
Meanwhile, if you know of any good slow cooker recipes, please let me know :-)
