Garlic butter - one of the things which I never understand why people buy ready made. It's very easy to make and also a lot cheaper to make yourself.
I usually have some made up ready in the fridge for whenever I need it (it will last for several weeks in an air tight container). I prefer to make it with fresh parsley when I have it but dried parsley or mixed dried herbs work well too. In this instance I have used dried herbs.
Herby Garlic Butter
Ingredients:
1/2 block or 125g butter (left out of the fridge so that it is soft)
4 x cloves of garlic, peeled and crushed /minced (you can add more or less garlic depending on your tastes)
1 generous teaspoon dried Italian herbs
Method:
Cut the butter into chunks and place directly into the storage tub you'll be using.
Add the garlic and herbs.
Mash all the ingredients together with a fork.
All done!
Now you can use your garlic butter to saute mushrooms, spread on french stick to make garlic bread, fry chicken breast.... whatever you like!
Last night I made some garlic bread with a par-baked loaf I had a around.
Yummy! I can smell it from here :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is the way I do my garlic butter too, and if I want it to be a bit spicy, I just add some chilli powder to it (especially good with meat).
