Swatching for Doris

I've decided to go for the Doris lace edging on my triangular Shetland lace shawl.
To familiarise myself with the pattern I've knitted a little swatch. I've gone up a needle size from 3.75mm for the main body of the shawl to to 4mm for the edging because I think the bead lace is a particularly  "open" stitch pattern and the Doris edge is not so lacy and may not be stretchy enough to accommodate.
Also, I think I may add an eyelet pattern between the Doris and the bead lace section to add a little more width and also a sort of transition between one pattern and the other.
Now I'm going to calculate whether this edging will fit with the stitches I have on each side of my triangle!
