Jamie Oliver's Brussel Sprouts


I caught the tail end of Jamie Oliver making his "Brussels with Hustle" recipe on TV the other night and he made it sound so appealing that I really wanted to try it out. So I did!
As I was only cooking for 4 people I halved all the ingredient quantities except for the bacon because I had 5 bits of streaky bacon left over from Christmas day that needed using up.
Apart from having a bit of a tussle with the slicing attachment on my Braun food processor which resulted in me slicing my thumb quite badly, the recipe was quick and easy. It does seem like you need to add a lot of Worcestershire sauce but the brussels sprouts just soak it up and the Worcestershire sauce isn't at all over powering.
I served Jamie Oliver's brussel sprouts with breaded haddock and home-made potato wedges.
This made a  hearty and cheap mid week supper. The brussel sprouts are really nice cooked in this way and I'll definitely be making these again.
