On New Year's Day I cast on for Monday's socks for the Posh Sock Challenge 2012. The pattern is called Salor and it's designed by Hunter Hammerson. Of course, I am using Posh Yarn Daisy 4ply in a wonderful red called "Cross My Heart".
The pattern comes from the book Silk Road Socks

The Salor are an ancient tribe from Turkmenistan and are considered by many to have originated Turkmen carpet weaving. It is not known whether members of this tribe still exist and although they no longer make the bright red rugs, the signature Salor octagonal "gul" motifs are often mimicked on other Turkish carpets and rugs.
