Yes, I know we've had a cold snap here in the UK but the boy fancied some honeycomb ice-cream for desert one night ...he picked this recipe from the book Ice Cream Made Easy: Homemade Recipes for Ice Cream Machines![](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_tGFUs7OwcWCDzq1vXVmiHSQ9dXuihu7KpKOdiueP1vpqD2J6iWEdJCQoOme1qmckf9ZTVp7PdJ7QivqhmuJjzNO5NkIOxoaYemdqGfESDKhO4PebUzjfC--BJB_RNztprkwG850wRNX5cV=s0-d)
You only need a handful of ingredients for this ice-cream recipe....crushed Crunchie bars, double cream & fromage frais.
This should have been a pretty straight forward recipe but I managed to mess it up a little. I didn't pour the cream mixture into the ice-cream machine in a steady stream. I was trying to pour it from a bowl into the machine but it was going everywhere so I decided to transfer the remaining mixture into a jug. While I did this, the small quantity I had already poured into the machine froze rock solid and made the rotating mixing arm jam. I did manage to release the jam but I couldn't get the frozen layer of ice cream off the base of the machine so I just poured the rest of the mixture in and carried on.
Lesson learnt - make sure the mixture is transfered into an easy pour jug before attempting to add it to the ice-cream making machine!
My fumbling meant that the ice-cream was not the best possible texture. However the children did not seem to mind and gobbled it up with enthusiasm.
I reserved a little bit of the crushed up honeycomb to sprinkle on the top when serving.
