Simple Pleasures - Marmite Popcorn

This is one of my favourite snacks to make the children ...it's cheap and relatively healthy compared to crisps and sweets...and the adults are quite partial to it as well.

Simply melt two generous knobs of butter in a pan and stir in a teaspoon of Marmite or other yeast extract such as Vegemite. You could also use Bovril.
This should be enough to coat one large pan worth of freshly popped popcorn.
This is the method I use to make popcorn in a large pan with a lid:
  • Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil  using a medium heat.
  • Add just enough corn to cover the bottom of the pan in one layer.
  • Put the lid on and wait for the corn to pop.
  • Coat with Marmite butter,  honey or any other flavouring you like to use.

How do you like your popcorn?
