Corner View - A Walk of My Dreams

Recently I found some old photos of a walking trip to Wales - or rather my other half did.
It was back in 2005 when our relationship was still relatively young. We hired a cottage and I found and printed a selection of circular walks off the Internet. I had to put the print outs in plastic wallets because we went in January and the weather wasn't that good - a lot of drizzle!
It seems so long ago now, like a dream. Looking back I feel like I was just a girl still - a girl in love.
I remember that holiday - the walks, the triumph of bounding up the hills, the drizzle, the beautiful skies, the clear, fresh, air. The cottage was cosy and quaint and the bed had a deep, soft mattress that swallowed you up.
I remember the cute little black and white kitten that sat on the windowsill outside, meowing to be let in. Of course we did and he was our companion for the days we were there, chasing my shoe laces, drinking from the sink and suckling my boyfriend's finger as they both dozed in the comfy arm chair in the front room.
And of course there was my red karate sweater that I wore everywhere. The red sweater that scared off all the wildlife - according to my boyfriend.
Ten years on and I feel like an old lady now in comparison! But it has reminded me that I must have a holiday like this again soon.
