Winner of Draw 1 - Posh Sock Challenge 2012

Well, with the help of my Ravelry friend, TravelBear, I finally managed to check through all the entries for the first Posh Sock Challenge draw. It took me a little time to check that all the projects existed but it was actually a lot of fun looking at all the fabulous socks that have been created... in total there were 53 entries! There are now 53 pairs of Posh Socks in the world that weren't in existence before the challenge started...that makes me smile!
My daughter drew the name out of a hat, well, a wicker basket to be more precise. The winning entry was knitted by Holmes2974...she submitted a beautiful pair of pink socks made with Sylvia 4ply yarn. The pattern is called "Cherry Pie" and features a pretty sideways knit cuff and a lace pattern reminiscent of "bleeding hearts". Can you believe that she is relatively new to sock knitting, having only knitted her first pair at the end of last year? I am so pleased that such a lovely lady won the first draw, her prize (a skein of Posh Erin sock yarn + Favourite Socks book) will be in the post to her tomorrow. Hopefully we'll see some more lovely socks as a result.
I can't wait to see all the socks knitted for "Draw 2"... but in the mean time I'll end this post with another image of the winning socks for you to admire!
